Volunteer at the Family Fun Zone

Hello Friends,

Like we have done for the past four years, California Families in Focus is producing the Family Fun Zone, which is located inside of the Long Beach Pride Festival. This year we will top all other years in regards to what the Family Fun Zone will offer our families who have children. Game booths, huge bouncers, karaoke, mechanical train ride, face painting, arts and crafts, puppet shows, mobile video lounge and much more!

We are asking anyone who would like to volunteer at the Family Fun Zone to respond to this message with your contact information and your availability. Please contact me with any questions you may have.

Volunteering with California Families in Focus is fun and rewarding. Anyone who volunteers 4 or more hours receives the following:

* Free entrance wrist band for the day you volunteer.

* Free lunch, drinks (sorry non-alcoholic only :) and snacks.

* Free t-shirt.

* Service learning hours for high school or college.

* Certificate of appreciation from California Families in Focus.

* Invitation to attend our volunteer appreciation banquet.

Below is a list of activities, dates and times. Please check your schedule and reply with the date, time and activity you wish to volunteer for. If you know of any high shcool, community or college groups that would benefit from the experience and the service learning hours, please forward this email and have them contact me ASAP.

We meet at 9:00am to assemble on Ocean Blvd. and Redondo. We will be riding in a big colorful train, but bring comfortable shoes anyway.

Family Fun Zone at Pride Festival

We will be having a volunteer orientation on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Smooth's, which is located at 144 Pine Avenue from 5:30pm-7:30pm. At this time we will be talking about parking, where volunteers will enter the festival, lunch, volunteer assignments and the distribution of the entrance bands.

We have a deadline to turn in our volunteer list to the Pride committee by next Monday, so if you would like to be included in this years even and volunteer list please reply to this email ASAP and let me know if you are coming to the volunteer orientation or if you have selected your volunteer time and date.

Miami Spice at SMOOTH's on May 17-18

Greetings everyone,

Since, the boys are having a pink party Friday and the girls are having a girls night on Saturday, we are inviting both boys and girls to play nice together on Sunday.

Instead of tickets we will be selling writst bands. We already sold 70 wrist bands. See what happens when you do something for a good cause :) Please help us promote this event to your contacts and ask them to support. If any of you are available to volunteer for this event please let me know. You will receive a free wrist band.
